Academic Staff

Melbourne Law School is committed to research-led teaching: the integration of cutting-edge scholarship with knowledge transfer activities.  Our staff are international leaders in legal research and scholarship, and possess extensive experience in both teaching and knowledge transfer.  Providing venues to encourage and facilitate interaction and collaboration between students and staff is an integral part of our commitment.

As a student in the Melbourne JD, you will be part of a vibrant culture of learning in which your opinions, knowledge and experience are valued.  You will be taught by leading scholars and legal practitioners, and enjoy a variety of opportunities to further enhance your Melbourne JD experience by meeting and learning from a wide range of experts.

Our teaching staff have been involved in many exciting legal developments in Australia and globally.  Providing advice to parliament about the Victorian Charter of Rights and Responsibilities, giving Law of War advice to the defence team for David Hicks, giving human rights training with the UK Foreign Office and taking part on the ‘Panel of Neutrals’ on the World Intellectual Property Organisation are just a few of our recent achievements.
