Professor Robertson joined Melbourne Law School in 1999. His teaching and research interests are in the law and theory of obligations and remedies and his current research is focused on policy-based reasoning in private law. Professor Robertson has written journal articles and book chapters on many issues in private law, mostly involving aspects of contract law, equitable estoppel and remedies. He is co-author of

The Goals of Private Law' was co-convened with Tang Hang Wu and held in Singapore in July 2008. The next conference in the series, 'Rights and Private Law' (co-convened with Donal Nolan) will be held in Oxford from 14-16 July 2010.
